Hello Engineering Graduate Students -

As part of an initiative to increase the diversity of our graduate programs, the College of Engineering, in partnership with EGSAC, is starting a Diversity Advocates program in the 2016-2017 academic year. A diversity advocate is a graduate student trained to understand the challenges facing underrepresented minority students (URM) in engineering graduate programs, detect potential sources of concern for URM students in each department, and to work with department and college leadership to build a more inclusive community. If you would like to serve as a diversity advocate for your department, please fill out the short application here by May 1, 2016. Applicants should have completed at least one year of graduate school by Fall 2016 and can be in either MS or PhD degree programs. Please see the attached document for further details on the role of a diversity advocate. For more information, please contact Ritu Raman (rraman9@illinois.edu
