Colleagues and Associates,

This is Scott Lee, Secretary/President-Elect for the Intelligent Transportation Society of the Midwest (ITS Midwest).  We are offering a $1,000 undergraduate scholarship this year, with our goal to celebrate the award with the chosen individual at our September Annual Meeting in Downers Grove, Illinois.  See for more details on the annual meeting and organization.  We are the Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio chapter of ITS America.

The background and criteria for the award are attached as is the application form.  We are hopeful your departments can support us in distributing this such that students can apply.  Or please point me to addition contacts to help spread the word within your institutions.

This is our first award.  It is named after one Gordon Paesani, one of my great mentors and a pioneer in freeway operations with focus on Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) and their components including incident response plans and adaptive ramp metering algorithms.

We appreciate the assistance and looking forward to delivering to a deserving candidate.  We hope to grow our awards program in future years.

I will be in Washington DC for the ITS America Annual Meeting much of the week, but will be responsive to emails and can return calls.

Thank You!

Scott Lee, P.E.

Chief Engineer, Innovation and Technology
