Guest receives Bill Boyle Educator of the Year award
CEE at Illinois Assistant Professor Jeremy S. Guest has been awarded the Bill Boyle Educator of the Year Award for 2016. This award, established in 2007, is given by the Central States Water Environment Association (CSWEA) and recognizes accomplishments in the education and development of future water environment professionals. Educators at all levels are eligible for the award which honors Professor William C. Boyle, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
In addition to the Bill Boyle Educator of the Year Award, Guest has appeared three times on the List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent since his first semester of teaching at CEE at Illinois (Spring 2012) and won the Outstanding Student Instructor Award at University of Michigan (2008-2009).
Guest earned his B.S. in civil engineering from Bucknell University (2005), M.S. in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2007) and Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan (2012). His research is focused on sanitation and the development of biotechnologies that manage wastewater as a renewable resource for energy production, chemical production, nutrient and water recovery. Guest serves as the Thrust Leader for Sanitation and Resource Recovery for the Safe Global Water Institute and Environmental Sustainability Lead for USAID Soybean Innovation Lab.
