Overseas employers welcome at CEE’s fall job fair
Overseas companies who want to hire Illinois civil and environmental engineers but can’t send recruiters to campus will have a unique opportunity to engage with CEE at Illinois students during this fall’s CEE job fair, offered virtually due to the pandemic. Space is still available for firms to host recruiting booths at the CEE Fall 2020 Job Fair, which will be held online on Wednesday and Thursday, September 23-24, 2020, via the virtual platform VFairs.
“This year’s online fair offers a unique chance for companies from all over the world to recruit our students without having to come to campus in person,” said CEE’s Coordinator of Alumni and Corporate Affairs Keely Ashman. “We’re especially excited about the VFairs platform, which offers recruiters and students a realistic, easy-to-navigate virtual environment.”
Each participating company will be given its own customizable online booth, complete with company logo, photos and videos. Recruiters will be able to video chat and text chat with students, offer documents for students to download and link to company content online. For just one fee, companies are automatically signed up for both days of the fair, which will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Central Standard Time each day.
Current CEE students – undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. – as well as CEE alumni from the class of 2020 will be attending the fair in search of jobs and internships.
