Professor Liang Liu’s graduate-level class CEE525 Construction Case Studies put on a mock trade show on green technology Oct. 30 for students in Liu’s undergraduate class CEE420 Construction Productivity.

“The purpose of the trade show assignment was to use a live and active environment to expose students to green/sustainable technologies in construction and to train students in marketing techniques and communication skills,” Liu said.

The graduate students had to select a sustainable product or technology related to construction, research the technical specifications, prepare a display, and market their selection in the trade show setting.

In addition to functioning as the trade show visitors and learning about the products and technologies being presented, the undergraduates voted for their favorite displays. The winning students and displays were: Michael Brennen, Lamboo; Torben Smith, Greed Grid Roof; and Calvin Young, Low Emissivity Windows.
