GPA and Test Requirements
Grade Point Average (GPA)
For a full status admission, the Graduate College requires a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (B average).
Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
The department requires that all applicants submit an official record of their scores for the GRE. For admission purposes, scores are only valid for five years prior to the proposed term of entry. CEE does not have a minimum required score.

The GRE is administered by the Educational Testing Service.
Requesting Official Scores
Applicants who have already taken the GRE should request that the Educational Testing Service send scores to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Graduate and Professional Admisstions and Academic Support Unit, using our institution code number 1836 and department codes 1102 (Civil Engineering) or 1103 (Environmental Engineering).
