The Graduate College Office of External Fellowships is pleased to announce a new resource for your graduate students.  Our Fellowship Finder database is a tool designed to connect students to external funding opportunities.  It contains information on over 1,100 awards, and it features a newly-designed interface that allows for quicker, easier, and more targeted searches.

For an extended introduction to the database, see our blog post, Grad School 101: How to Find Fellowships That Are Right for You.

Fellowship Finder operates in conjunction with the grant writing workshops, proposal advising, and other services we offer. For details on those, visit our webpages.  If you have any questions about the database or about fellowships in general, feel free to contact us at ExtFellowships@illinois.edu

The Graduate College’s Office of External Fellowships will hold an information session on the Ford Fellowship program, and it will feature Dr. Aixa Alfonso, the Ford Foundation’s Regional Liaison and Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Illinois-Chicago.  Dr. Alfonso is also a former Ford recipient.  Students considering applying for a fellowship are strongly encouraged to attend.
