Golparvar-Fard named one of Midwest's top young professionals

Associate Professor Mani Golparvar-Fard has been named as one of the region’s top young professionals for 2017 by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Midwest.

The ENR list recognizes rising stars in the design and construction industries. Individuals are selected based on professional excellence, leadership, and service to their profession and community. ENR Midwest highlighted Golparvar-Fard’s technical expertise and academic guidance during his tenure at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was also recognized for the number of patents he holds and the work he does through his start-up company, Reconstruct Inc., which grew out of his ongoing research projects.

Golparvar-Fard earned his B.Sc. and first M.Sc. in civil engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2002. He went on to earn his M.A.Sc. in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2006, and his M.S. in computer science and Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010. He joined the faculty of CEE at Illinois in 2012, and in 2015 became one of the first Engineering at Illinois Faculty Entrepreneurial Fellows.
