An exit survey of 151 CEE undergraduate students (2020-2021)* reported:

  • 59% employed
  • 35% continuing education
  • 6% seeking employment
  • Average starting salary $64,233

Additionally, CEE students taking the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam – the first step to becoming a licensed professional engineer – have a 94.5% pass rate, compared to the national pass rate of 68%. CEE at Illinois pass rate for the Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) exam – required to become a Professional Engineer in the United States – is 84.5%, compared to the national pass rate of 63.5%.
