Dear Student,

My name is Dr. Jennifer Amos and I am a Teaching Associate Professor in Bioengineering. I am conducting a research project entitled The Double Bind of Race and Gender: A Look into the Experiences of Women of Color in Engineering that looks at the intersection of both gender and race of engineering students.  This project has been approved by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institutional Review Board (Project number: 17051).

I am contacting you to see if you would be interested in participating in this project. By participating in this study, you will contribute to providing a more complete understanding of the experiences of women in engineering. Please note this announcement of the offering of ABE 474 Indoor Environmental Control.  This course replaced ABE 374 and now grants credit to both upper level undergraduates and graduate students as well. The course operates with a flipped classroom, with lectures by video and activities to support concepts during class.

FRED S. BAILEY SCHOLARSHIP FOR CAUSE DRIVEN LEADERS

Who should apply?  All undergraduate students who will be enrolled at UIUC during the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 academic year are eligible to receive awards of $3000.  Students graduating in 2017-18 will also be considered for the $5000 Bailey Leadership Awards.
