Julian Rueda Geotechnical Engineering Scholarship

Julian Rueda (BS 80, MS 82) was born in Bucaramanga, Columbia and studied geotechnical engineering. He is the founder and president of Geo Services Inc., a full service geotechnical engineering firm in Naperville, Ill. Rueda has previously served on the Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association Board of Directors, is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association, and a Chancellor Circle member for his leadership in annual giving.

Scholarships are provided to undergraduate students engaged in the study of Geotechnical Engineering that are enrolled in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Preference shall be given to a first or second generation student of Colombian decent or to students from Colombia.

The award is made in two equal payments: one in the Fall semester and one in the Spring semester.
