Virtual: Civil and Environmental Engineering Student Chat
This online event will include a short presentation about Civil and Environmental Engineering majors, followed by discussion with current CEE students and the opportunity to ask questions about the program and student life.

This virtual event will give admitted students an opportunity to engage with CEE Alumni. Ask questions about their experiences as a civil and
environmental engineering student and provide information about their current jobs and the work they do.

Workshop: A Civil and Environmental World – “Solving the Biggest Challenges in Society”
This workshop will explore what Civil and Environmental Engineering is and the impact this field has on today’s society. There will be two breakout sessions, where students will hear from CEE Faculty, Alumni, and current students.

Luncheon: Women in Civil and Environmental Engineering
This luncheon will explore what Civil and Environmental Engineering is and the impact this field has on today’s society. There will be two breakout sessions, where students will hear from CEE Faculty and current students.

Engineering Open House (in-person, public event)
Every spring, engineering students at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign set aside a weekend to show off what they have been working on all year long. Students from every discipline of engineering set up demonstrations and exhibits to remind the general public of the role that science plays in everyday life and to show the difference that technology will make in the future. This event is entirely student-run.
Days: Friday & Saturday
Dates: April 4 - 5
Times: All day
No registration required; this event is open to the public.

Undergraduate Application Process:
At Grainger Engineering, you apply directly to your engineering major of interest. This means you can immediately begin to deepen your connection to the CEE department, and explore research opportunities and extracurricular activities related to your academic goals.
- Explore CEE at Illinois to learn more about civil and environmental engineering and what makes our program one of the best in the nation.
- Visit Grainger website to review all application requirements and learn what factors are considered.
- Complete the online application through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
- The university sends out communication via email. Carefully read all emails sent from the department, college and university to ensure no additional forms must be completed after you submit the application.
- Next steps: once your application has been submitted, you can check your application status at any time. If you are admitted, accept your offer and become part of the CEE family!
One great thing about the CEE program at Illinois is the people – the students are so incredibly bright and passionate, the professors are caring and creative, and the community as a whole is a tight-knit, fun, intelligent and, most importantly, diverse group of learners.
