Undergraduate Scholarships: A boost for our talented undergraduates

Recruiting scholarships allow the College of Engineering and CEE at Illinois to attract the very top students, ensuring a high quality undergraduate student body. The Engineering Visionary Scholarship Endowment Fund multiplies the power of gifts of any size by pooling them into one fund. The Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association (CEEAA) Scholarship was established in 2013 by the CEEAA Board of Directors to mark the occasion of the board’s 50th anniversary. The scholarship is awarded each year to a student with a record of service to the department. Other scholarships, funded through the generosity of our donors, are awarded by the department to successful students for use during their sophomore, junior or senior years. The CEE Trust Fund also helps fund scholarships, as well as supporting other student projects. To help fund a scholarship, make a gift now or contact us for more information.

Research Experience for Undergraduates

The opportunity to engage in research during the undergraduate years is a top priority for today's students and greatly enhances their education. Students who have these opportunities gain a valuable introduction to the research process and are more likely to stay for graduate studies. Often, the experience also increases their desirability in the job market. The department's Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program provides funding for professors to hire undergrads for research positions. Read a feature about the REU program. To help fund the REU program, make a gift now or contact us for more information.

Graduate Fellowships

The recruitment of top graduate students allows for a robust, top-tier research program. Fellowships help to provide a pipeline of academic excellence for the next generation of faculty members and practitioners. While CEE at Illinois has rich research offerings to entice students, we must also compete against the financial incentives offered by other institutions. Please contact us for information on how to fund a fellowship.
