An exit survey of 179 CEE undergraduate students (2022-2023)* reported:
- 99% secured first destination (employment or graduate school)
- 62% employed
- 37% continuing education
- Average starting salary $74,098
Additionally, CEE students taking the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam – the first step to becoming a licensed professional engineer – have a 94.5% pass rate, compared to the national pass rate of 68%. CEE at Illinois pass rate for the Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) exam – required to become a Professional Engineer in the United States – is 84.5%, compared to the national pass rate of 63.5%.
