Max Whitman APWA Memorial Scholarship
Max Whitman, a 1958 engineering graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, served as Engineer and Director of Public Works for the Village of Oak Park and Winnetka. He was a dedicated member of the Chicago Metro Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) for over 40 years. In honor of his devoted service, this scholarship was established to encourage outstanding civil and environmental engineering students to enter the public works field.
Preference is given to juniors and seniors who have worked for a municipality, state or federal agency in an internship, co-op or summer staffing capacity, or for a consultant serving the public sector clients.
The award is made in two equal payments: one in the Fall semester and one in the Spring semester.
