Biography
Ernest-John Ignacio is an Instructor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned a B.Eng. (2004) and M.Eng. (2005) in Civil Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, NY. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before pursuing a Ph.D., he worked in the construction industry in New York for eleven years. He joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois in 2018.
Ernest-John Ignacio teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering and management including: construction engineering, construction productivity, construction equipment and methods, construction safety, and construction economics & financing. In recognition of his teaching effectiveness, he has been consistently named on the “List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by their Students” at UIUC and received the American Society of Civil Engineers Outstanding Instructor Award (2019 & 2021).
