Garg interviewed on reducing the carbon footprint of concrete

Assistant Professor Nishant Garg was interviewed for the Illinois Public Media program “State of Change” that aired in November 2022. The program examined how Illinoisans are managing carbon, a major contributor to climate change.

Garg talks about a research project he is working on for Meta, the parent company of Facebook, which is interested in reducing the carbon footprint of a data center the company is constructing. Garg’s research team is using AI to explore concrete mix alternatives that result in lower carbon emissions.
