PhD students win awards at ACI Convention

Two CEE at Illinois Ph.D. students won first place in their respective competitions during the Fall 2022 American Concrete Institute Convention in Dallas.

Two CEE at Illinois Ph.D. students won top prizes during the Fall 2022 American Concrete Institute (ACI) Convention. 

Karthik Pattaje Sooryanarayana (at left) won the ACI 123 Committee Concrete Research in Progress Best Presentation Award for his presentation titled, "3D printing with concrete - Development of a vibrating nozzle for material extrusion." Pattaje Sooryanarayana is advised by Professor Emeritus David Lange.

Jordan Ouellet (at right) won the ACI 123 Committee Concrete Research Poster Session Best Poster Award for his poster, "Quantifying Compactability of Roller-Compacted Concrete with Gyratory Compactor." Ouellet is advised by professor Jeffery R. Roesler.
