Favorite college memory:
I've enjoyed being part of RSOs on campus like SHPE and Engineering Ambassadors because I've been able to be a part of community developments by raising STEM awareness for minority students. I've also been able to feel like I am at "home" through my involvement in SHPE and help empower Hispanic engineering students to get their MS degrees.
Immediate plans:
I plan on taking a gap year to work since I am graduating in Fall 2020. I then plan on going to graduate school in Fall 2021 in hopes that the pandemic slows in the U.S. next fall.
Future plans:
I am planning on becoming a superintendent in whatever construction company I end up in. I think the superintendent role interests me more than the project manager route because of the way you get to interact with the craftsmen and the current work on the site. I would really just like to be a key role in coordinating construction projects and show my family what buildings I've helped construct. I also plan on becoming a mentor once I have been working for a bit in the field so I can help underserved students, like myself, get better insight into the construction field.
