Evolving AI+CEE
Graduate Programs
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Illinois currently offers coursework that provides graduate-level expertise in both AI and a technical domain in CEE. Students can choose to complete these courses as part of their MS track or as a Certificate.
AI + CEE
MS Track
The AI + Civil and Environmental Engineering non-thesis Master’s track emphasizes AI and machine learning and includes courses that balance AI methodology and disciplinary contents from different CEE areas of study.
AI + CEE
Certificate
Not sure about applying for a master's program? Students can receive a certificate in a specialized area within civil and environmental engineering, including AI, by completing 3-4 courses for 12 credit hours.
Professional Development
In addition to our graduate coursework in both AI and a technical domain in CEE, the department is also excited to expanding is educational offerings through its new AI+CEE Short Course program. The first one-day course explored strategic AI implementation at all levels of practice through case studies, group discussions, and speakers. Plans to expand the AI+CEE Short Course series are currently underway!
