Ravindar K. and Kavita Kinra Fellowship

The Ravindar K. and Kavita Kinra Fellowship was established in 2007 by Lalit and Kavita Bahl to support graduate students enrolled in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Lalit Bahl is an alumnus of Illinois’ Electrical and Computer Engineering department who earned his master’s degree in 1966 and his Ph.D. in 1969. His wife Kavita Bahl's late first husband, Ravindar K. Kinra, earned his Ph.D. in 1968 from CEE at Illinois. Gratitude for their education and the research assistantships the two men received during that time motivates the Bahls' continued philanthropy to this day.

Recipients are selected by the CEE Department Head, with preference given to Indian students whose families reside in India.
