Daniel P. Dietzler

For an outstanding and consummate career providing technical expertise, advancement and practical leadership in the fields of civil engineering and the construction industry while providing positive influence on many civil engineers; for dedicated guidance and vision in establishing Patrick Engineering Inc., a fast-growing engineering firm; and for support of future generations of engineers in their higher educational pursuits.
Biography
Daniel P. Dietzler began his career at Harza Engineering designing large water resources projects before founding Patrick Engineering Inc. in 1979. Patrick Engineering and its affiliates grew to over 500 employees and the company has worked on infrastructure projects in all 50 states. Dietzler has directed major geotechnical investigations for the Panama Canal Commission, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, BP Amoco and other companies. He has directed multiple building and railroad projects, and has led teams of engineers for electrical transmission and distribution systems, mechanical systems projects, flood control and water supply projects, and more.
Dietzler serves as President of many entities owned or controlled by the Dietzler family, including Albin Carlson & Company, Dietzler Construction Corporation, Dietzler Water Resources, Dietzler Farms, Yoder Wyoming Grain Company, Dietzler Family Ltd. Partnership and Wyoming Connect Railroad. He also occasionally serves as an expert witness for civil engineering and construction-related issues.
Dietzler has served as a board member for the Illinois Road Builders Association, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Western Society of Engineers. He is also the former Director of the Society of American Military Engineers. In 2011, he received the Civil Engineer of the Year Award from ASCE, Illinois Section.
Dietzler is the son of a WWII veteran and grandson of a WWI veteran, and is the oldest of ten children. He and his wife, Pat, have five children and eight grandchildren.
