Biography
Mary Lou Kutska is a Bridge Technical Manager at Michael Baker International with over ten years of experience for clients nationally. She obtained her B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2011 and her M.S. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2012. She has worked on final design, staged construction analysis, structural peer review, and served as a technical advisor for segmental bridges, precast concrete bridges, deck replacement, elevated steel track, signature pedestrian bridges, major river crossings, and design build. She is a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois and a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states.
Her past project experience includes the Wilson CTA Red Line Station, St. Croix Extradosed Bridge, Cable-Stayed Harbor Bridge, Cumberland Flyover, Lakefront Trail Pedestrian Bridge, 3rd Avenue Concrete Spandrel Arch Bridge, North Split Design Build Interchange, and the Hernando de Soto Emergency Repair.
Kutska Is heavily involved in both the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois and the Women’s Transportation Seminar. She serves as a Board Member and Midwest Bridge Symposium Co-Chair for SEAOI and as the current Vice President of the WTS Greater Chicago Chapter.
