CEE Assistant Professor Houtan Jebelli has been named the 2025 recipient of the Hojjat Adeli Award for Innovation in Computing from the journal of Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering (CACAIE).
The Hojjat Adeli Award was established in 2010 and is presented annually in recognition of innovation in computing research that has been published in CACAIE. During the 2024-2025 cycle, Jebelli had three papers published in CACAIE and was nominated for the award by members of the journal’s Editorial Advisory Board.
In the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Grainger College of Engineering, Jebelli oversees the Robotics, Automation, and Intelligent Sensing (RAISe) Lab, where his research focuses on integrating robotics, automation, and intelligent sensing within the construction industry, with the aim of significantly enhancing safety, productivity, and health. Earlier this year, he won several Best Paper Awards at the 2026 ASCE Construction Research Congress for his paper, "Assistive Autonomy and Safety Overlays for Mixed-Reality Guided Humanoid Teleoperation in Construction”, and has received numerous other accolades for his work in construction robotics and automation.
Jebelli’s fellow CEE professor, Mani Golparvar-Fard, won the Hojjat Award in 2026.
