Barros receives D.WRE Board Certification

Ana P. Barros has received Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE) Board Certification by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers.

Ana P. BarrosProfessor and Department Head Ana P. Barros has received Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE) Board Certification by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE). The D.WRE Board Certification is the highest level of advanced post-license certification offered in the water resources engineering profession for professional engineers. The new class of board certified D.WREs were recognized at the AAWRE 2023 Ceremony on May 22, 2023, in Henderson, Nev.

Barros joined CEE at Illinois in February 2021, where she is also the Donald Biggar Willett Chair of Engineering. Her primary research interests are in development and application of information technology as a research tool and in the operation of complex engineering systems; computational environmental fluid mechanics and nonlinear dynamics; remote sensing of the environment using microwave and infrared sensors; and physics of water cycle processes in mountainous regions with a focus on cloud formation and precipitation.
