CEE at Illinois has been named the No. 1 online civil engineering master’s degree program by U.S. News & World Report. CEE at Illinois has held the No. 1 position since online program rankings began in 2020.
The CEE Online program offers master’s degrees in civil engineering and environmental engineering, with courses in Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Infrastructure, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering and Science, Energy-Water-Environment Sustainability, Societal Risk and Hazard Mitigation, and Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure Systems.
"This wonderful news reflects CEE's dedication to graduate education and professional graduate education in particular," said department head Ana P. Barros. "CEE offers more than 50 classes online over a wide broad range of topics that span the entire profession and 12 distinct M.S. tracks in traditional and emerging areas, and we are constantly evaluating the need for new courses and certificates."
Overall, The Grainger College of Engineering ranked No. 4 in Best Online Master’s in Engineering programs, moving up two spots from No. 6 last year. Other Grainger Engineering online programs that ranked in the Top 20 include Mechanical Engineering (No. 3), Electrical Engineering (No. 5) and Industrial Engineering (No. 12).
