CEE undergrad programs rank among top in nation

The latest U.S. News and World Report rankings place the CEE at Illinois undergraduate programs in the top five in the nation. The civil engineering undergraduate program at Illinois ranked third in the category, Best Undergraduate Civil Engineering Programs in the 2023 America's Best Colleges edition of U.S. News and World Report (published September 12, 2022). CEE at Illinois tied for fifth place in the category, Best Undergraduate Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering Programs, moving up one place from last year.

CEE at Illinois consistently ranks among the top in the nation for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Earlier this year, the civil engineering and environmental engineering graduate programs at Illinois ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. The CEE Online M.S. program ranked No. 1 for the third year in a row.

Overall, The Grainger College of Engineering undergraduate engineering program ranked No. 7 in the category, Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs. Ten engineering programs at Illinois, including civil and environmental, ranked in the top ten.
