Chevron VP, CEE Alum to Speak in Yeh Center

CEE alumnus Joseph C. Geagea (BS 81, MS 82), senior vice president of technology, projects and services at Chevron, will deliver the College of Engineering Dean's Distinguished Leadership Lecture on Wednesday, October 22. His presentation, “Meeting our Energy Needs For a Better Tomorrow,” will take place at 4:30 p.m. in room 1310 of the Yeh Center.

 

After graduating with his master's degree, Geagea joined Chevron in 1982 as a design engineer. In his current position, which he has held since January 2014, Geagea is responsible for energy technology, delivery of major capital projects, procurement, information technology, upstream production services and talent selection and development in support of Chevron’s upstream, downstream and midstream businesses.

 

Previously, Geagea served as a corporate vice president and president of Chevron Gas and Midstream and was responsible for commercializing Chevron’s natural gas resources and supporting the development of new growth opportunities worldwide. He was also responsible for overseeing Chevron’s shipping, pipeline and power operations, as well as supply and trading operations.

 

Geagea serves on the board of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
