Joshua Peschel, CEE Research Assistant Professor and Director of the Human-Infrastructure Interaction Lab, delivered the CITRIS Research Exchange Lecture this week at the University of California-Berkeley on his research work with robotics systems.

In his talk, Rise of the Civil Robots [link goes to video of talk], Peschel discussed his work, which has identified ways for civil and environmental engineers to more quickly and easily use small tactical robots in domains such as disaster response and environmental monitoring. His research informs the design of future robotics systems and human interfaces for land, water and air applications.

The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) at the University of California-Berkeley creates information technology for many of society’s most pressing societal, environmental and healthcare problems.
