Message from research assistant professor Arthur R. Schmidt

CEE Graduates:  It has been such a pleasure to get to know many of you over the past several years.  Although your undergraduate years have been marked by unprecedented challenges, your response to these challenges has inspired me. I have watched you put in extra effort, to schedule extra meetings with faculty and TAs, to work to make up for the opportunities that were hindered by the pandemic.  To those of you in ASCE< I watched with great pride as you made the inaugural Western Great Lakes Symposium not only an outstanding event, but one that set the bar for all that will follow. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with you, the future leaders in the Civil and Environmental Engineering profession, over these past several years.  I look forward to seeing and hearing of your accomplishments.
