Assistant Professor X. Shelly Zhang has been elected to the Executive Committee of the International Society for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (ISSMO).
The ISSMO is the largest and most influential professional society in the structural optimization field. The executive committee is elected every four years by a vote of the organization’s nearly 1,400 members worldwide. Traditionally, executive committee members are tenured faculty members, but in Zhang’s case they made an exception. She will serve a four-year term.
