LER is hosting two Informational Meetings for students to learn more about the Master of Human Resources and Industrial Relations (MHRIR) Program at the School of Labor and Employment Relations!  Interested students will be joined by faculty and staff for curriculum overview and current students as they share their experiences in the program.  Other topics during the session include admissions requirements and career opportunities in the field! 

The first session is at the end of September.

The IAAP Education Foundation will award up to four (4) $2,000 scholarships.  These scholarships are a one-year grant.  Students may re-apply in subsequent years.

The Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and interviews eligible applicants.  The application deadline is December 15, 2016. 


Applicant must be a High School graduate, or will graduate the year applying, and be pursuing undergraduate work only, on a full-time basis, at an institution of higher learning (hereafter referred to as College). Applicant must be majoring, or intends to major, in a curriculum which will be compatible with a career in the aggregates industry such as (but not limited to) Civil Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering, Mineral Science or Mining Engineering.

On Wednesday, September 7th and Thursday, September 8th, Engineering Career Services will be hosting the Engineering Career Fair.   The fair offers Illinois Engineering students access to 350+ companies who will be recruiting for internships and full-time employment. There is no better place for students to meet and talk with so many company representatives in one spot.

Date:  September 7th & 8th
Time:  12:00 – 6:00
Place:  ARC

*To help students manage their time, we will be providing round-trip shuttle services from Grainger to ARC from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Note the time change of the fair.  The fair will run until 6:00 pm to make it easier for students to attend after classes.

A mobile guide of the career fair is available free through the App Store: IL ECS Career Fair Plus.   The app provides a company listing, interactive floor plan, event details, real-time updates and career fair tips. Remember that many alumni representing their companies attend the career fair, you’re bound to recognize your former students.  You are welcome to stop by the career fair and visit with companies and alumni!

Last fall, over 1,000 interviews took place the days immediately following the career fair.  As you can imagine, the Career Fair week will be very busy for students as they juggle classes, career fair and interviews.  Thank you in advance for supporting students as they students explore and pursue the many career opportunities offered this fall.   We are proud to showcase the outstanding talent that Illinois Engineering has to offer!
