Environmental Engineering graduate program moves up in rankings

The environmental engineering graduate program at Illinois tied for third place in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report rankings of Best Graduate Schools rankings in the category, Best Engineering Schools: Environmental Engineering Programs, moving up from fourth position last year. The environmental engineering graduate program at Illinois tied for third place in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report rankings of Best Graduate Schools rankings in the category, Best Engineering Schools: Environmental Engineering Programs, moving up from fourth position last year. The University of Illinois also tied for second in the category, Best Engineering Schools: Civil Engineering.

The Grainger College of Engineering ranked tenth in the nation overall, with a total of eleven Top 10 graduate specialties and seven Top 5 graduate specialties.

In January, the CEE Online civil engineering graduate program ranked first in the nation for the second year in a row. The civil engineering and environmental engineering undergraduate programs, which are ranked in the fall, continue to place highly. In the most recent rankings, each program was sixth in the nation for their respective categories.
